Firmly rooted in the Spirit life

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” Psalm 1:1-2

The Hebrew word torah that is used in this translation as ‘law’ is better understood as ‘teaching’. It is the revelation of God’s will for His people and not a collection of judicial or legislative material.

When we who profess Christ, center our lifestyles in allowing the Holy Spirit to exchange the spirit life for our own flesh ways of beings, we are entering into an intimate communion and fellowship with God.

As His Spirit life becomes intricately knitted into the fabric of our humanity, we become as a tree who drinks of the rich nourishment of rivers of waters. Those living waters we drink from is the Christ Spirit whose supply is unlimited and always flowing from us.

The Holy Spirit is who refreshes, renews, and enhances our lives in taking root in our inner realm, bearing the fruits of Godliness in our character, attitudes, and behaviors.

The fruits of a Godly person will continue to flourish and flow from them. The abiding work of the Spirit transforms, changing and forming us nearer to the character of God’s love, is the prospering being spoken of here.

This is not a monetary or material prospering in regards to wealth, but is a deep inner thriving of one’s spiritual nature in obtaining contentment, peace and joy.

These attributes become as streams of water coursing through our body, soul and spirit, springing forth the life nature of the divinity of Christ.

It is this Christ Spirit whose resurrection power is as a mighty tree, grounded inside us, standing strong and firm, who has become our very life foundation.

We cannot be moved when we become firmly rooted and grounded in this Christ life and He becomes our strength grafted into our weakness, guiding, directing and shining His light of truth before us each day.

Saturating our entire being in His Word and allowing the Holy Spirit, God’s agent become the active force within us whom we learn to rely and depend on, to be who rules and reigns, controlling who we are becoming; inside and out.
