Stepping into the Path of God’s Intentions for my life

Have you ever just want to get outside even though the weather is not exactly sunny, warm, or otherwise inviting?  Well, I enjoy being outside whenever possible and today was one of those days where getting my walking in was done in the semi-wilderness.

I prepared myself putting on boots, grabbing an extra jacket, donning a hat, a water bottle, my camera, extra batteries and out the door we went, into the brisk 38 degree Northeastern Spring here in Upstate NY.

My husband, Ron and myself stepped out, driving to a rural park in our area, that was totally vacant of any people!

Quietness, solitude, centers our souls, as we can allow our minds to unwind from the business of life.  Places such as these are spaces I can just let go of all the noise and distractions that come in my everyday life.

After walking just a short distance, the initial path opened up before us to this large lake.

The lake overflowed into this above creek, cascading down the rocks into a stream that could only be followed a short ways, due to all the branches and trees lining its borders.

Hiking on trails where we are surrounded by water, trees, brooks, opens up our spirit in listening to the breath of life discovered in nature.

Being in this space, allowed an opening in attentiveness to myFather God’s Spirit, where I was able to center my soul in His presence, not disturbed by anything else.

I was able to give Him my full focus, entering into the spiritual realm, His holy place deeply inside my being, where I am in this union in Him.

Many birds could be heard chirping and I even captured a newly made nest in preparation for the birth of the young ones who would soon be coming into this world; just as we did, with nothing of our own.

As I gazed at this nest, I reflected on the verse in the bible that says; “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”  Matthew 6:26

I considered how my Father God has taken me in His hands, given me this new life, His way of being, and how grateful I am for the ability to see with my eyes, hear with my ears, feel and sensing with my heart.

My gratefulness comes in moments like today, as I sat near the edge of this beautiful place, and felt the warmth of the sun beam upon my face, soaking in its rays.

I felt a sense of thankfulness to sit in this place of sacred stillness where I sensed my Father God’s abundant life flowing from me, just as I could view His creations abounding around me, flourishing and thriving right where they were planted.

So He reminded me, that I am to seek His life right where He has me and His Holy Spirit will flourish in and through the giving of myself to Him.

In All my moments, He pours into me, rivers of living waters, sustaining my spiritual being in and by His supernatural ability.

This place of solitude was the space my Father gave me to rest in His promises, to rest in His goodness, to rest in His life and to rest into whom He is changing me into becoming, intimately connected in Him as my life source.

The beauty of His creation was set before me during my walk today.  The ability He gave me in walking and the freedom I had in choosing where to walk is not something I have taken for granted.

“Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise him in the heights above. Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his heavenly hosts. Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars. Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies. Let them praise the name of the Lord, for he commanded and they were created. He set them in place for ever and ever; he gave a decree that will never pass away.” (Psalm 148:1-6)

My mind began to consider those who are unable to take such simple pleasures as I was  able to on this particular day.  I have had (still do have) many friends over the years who had some sort of condition that restricted them in one way or another; wheelchairs,  blindness, mobility issues, autoimmune conditions, cancer, life long medical conditions, struggles with mental health issues, etc.

I have seen how they struggle, watched how they have been discarded by the many, and cried with them in the midst of their many challenges, while holding their hand, praying, supporting, encouraging in the many simple ways I found was possible.

Whether it is being present by their side, serving a meal, sending a card, phoning them to see how they are doing, visiting them, and just letting them know, I am there with them, in whatever way I am able.

This how I offer to them the love and hope found in my Lord’s grace that has been freely given to me; so I freely give His love away to all I meet along life’s road.

I can visually imagine the life source of living waters from the Christ Spirit overflowing from my heart, flowing into the depth of the souls of others, in the midst of their adversity, where their hearts spring forth in a renewed Hope.

God’s love overflows from my heart, touching those places of isolated aloneness where persons can discover strength is found in our Father’s unlimited grace.

It is the many who find comfort in the solace of a friend who is present with them, standing by their side in it all.

It is in this way of being, where I pour into others from this reservoir of life given to me from the Holy Spirit’s abundance, in their time of need, this same mercy and love our Father has given to me, from the overflow of His life in mine.

He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” John 7:38

All of these things passed through my mind when I saw this birds nest and thought to myself how our Father God cares for them, how much more will He care for me, for us?

Sometimes it takes us who have skin on, who can touch with real flesh, who can show in practical means, doing the caring in His name.

Sometimes it takes us being sensitive to the needs of others, so we can offer them the living waters known in the Christ, that no matter the struggle, no matter the difficulty, no matter the hardship, they will know He lives by our love for them.

Sometimes it takes us being awake, listening to the unspoken hearts and souls of all those walking this path called life, reaching from beyond our own self, and giving of ourselves to others and in this way, show them they are valuable, they matter, and in doing so, they can also know God cares, and they matter to Him.

It is in being His love that others will know our Father God loves them.

This is the healing balm needed in this world, that the Christ whose resurrection power is alive in us, reaches to all those hurting, alone, and suffering, touching their hearts with His life, gifting to them, these same rivers of living waters known in the Spirit life, when we extend ourselves to others.

It is when we step aside from our own ways and enter into the path of righteous living in being the Spirit of Christ by showing compassion, offering His mercy, being forgiving.

God’s love makes the difference in the lives of all those we encounter in this journey walking as spiritual pilgrims upon this earthly sphere, when we slow down enough to reach out to another, compassionately caring.

Our path becomes clearly marked, where our highest destiny is in the intimacy known in the union of fellowship in the Godhead in whose love is infused in our hearts by the Spirit of Christ.

Our Father’s greatest desire for us is to be His vessels, agents willing to carry this divine nature as entrusted stewards living in the overflow of His love, so others will know, He lives.

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Mathew 7:13-14

It is my passion to walk this narrow path discovering the breadth, depth and height of my Father God’s love.  Along this path, I am discovering, the way to my Father’s heart, can only be known in allowing His Spirit, in whose transformative power exchanges my flesh in being His radical God Heart of love.

My father’s desires towards me is one where my union in Him is complete, my consecration is deep, and my devotion is sacred being.

In these spaces, I am not willing to hold any region back from the Spirit in a continual surrender to His ways of being, where my response is an automatic ‘Yes Lord’, to all those places He leads me to step into.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”  John 13:34

When our lives show forth the fruits of the Christ Spirit’s in an authentic and real way, touching the hearts of men, woman and children, His greatest gift ever imparted in us, which is His pure Love, will be who is manifested through our communion in Him and in our service to others.

Our lives are to give Glory to our Father, whose Spirit life is our destiny, so that all might come to know Him, that no one should walk alone, and that all could have life abundant, now, and enter into the Salvation freely given to anyone who believes in Jesus, knowing they are truly cared for and loved by a Living God.
