Close observations of world events will not enable us to predict the time of Christ’s return. We as the followers of Jesus should live in a state of being prepared, being ready, having our souls aligning with Godly endeavors, our focus on seeking those things that will help us grow into spiritual maturity, rightly dividing the truth, walking in one accord, living holy lives in and by the Spirit who gives all ability.
We must have as an inner attitude of living each day as if it were the day of His return.
Matthew 25:13 “WATCH THEREFORE, FOR YOU KNOW NEITHER THE DAY NOR THE HOUR IN WHICH THE SON OF MAN IS COMING.”
Matthew 25:34-45 “Then the King will say to those on His right hand, Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.
Then the righteous will answer Him, saying ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?
And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.
Then He will also say to those on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, in as much as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.”
Faith is not a fellowship of patting each other on the back being part of some elite group or club we belong to. Faith is not about having a position where we lord it over others, abusing them as we think we have the right to dictate to others how they need to be.
Faith is not about using our title to gain approval or favor from others.
The life in following Christ is to be doers of the word, but not for recognition, not for pats on the back, not for prestige or a big fat paycheck, or to be known for having a certain ‘ministry’. That is all rubbish and reeks of the world’s way of gaining something. That is how those who have not Christ live.
We have been called out of darkness to be separate form the world’s system, including the religious structures putting people in bondage today.
We have been called to live holy lives exemplary of the Christ Spirit who we claim to love, who we profess to be our Lord, who we rise each day to greet.
We have been called to give up our lives. To give us our desires. To give up our ways. To give up our status. To give up our position. To give up prestige. To give up any desire to gain from this-worldly standards. To give up our ambition. To give up our tendencies. To give up our way of being to His way of being.
We have been called to set an example of truth, honor, integrity, being who we say we follow, inside and out.
Being followers of Christ is only possible when we absolutely surrender all of who we think we are to the Spirit’s reign.
Being followers of Christ means stewarding All the resources He has lent to me; time, house, possession, money, gifts, talents.
Being followers of Christ calls me to a higher standard of loving ALL regardless of who they are and regardless of whether they can return anything.
JESUS CALLS US TO LOVE EVERYONE. PERIOD.
