As we move into a new year, remember that fulfilling our God-given purpose is a journey, not a destination; it’s a process which includes preparation (which feel like pit stops) and delays (which feel like detours).
But God is never in a hurry, He’s always in control and is completely able to get us where we need to go, able to complete in us what He started. “…being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6).
We who are walking this journey in Faith find it necessary to come to the place where the Christ Spirit becomes Preeminent in all of whom we are becoming and in all we do, for in the surrendering of our fleshly remains, in the dying to ourselves, moment by moment, it is He who gives us so much more than we could possibly imagine in return.
Then Our God becomes the only necessary entity in our lives as all else follows from His fullness which is at work in us, and all other things become dim in the glow of His face, in the refuge found in the shadow of His wings, in His Grace given for the day, in the warm embrace of His abiding love.
It is our Lord God who remains Faithful to us in all our moments and it is His word, who is Christ, who sheds Truth in our hearts, and it is His Spirit who breathes life into our lungs.
Oh, the depth, the width, the breadth of His love is unknown to us in our flesh, but one day we will know Him and one day we will see Him in All His Glory, in All His Majesty, in All His Holiness.
So, until that day, let us hold firm to our faith, living and abiding in His Spirit of Grace, being filled with Godly wisdom, using a Holy discernment to know the way in which we should walk.
“Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:12-14)
It is The Lord who leads us besides the deep waters where we draw from His Living well daily, filling our hearts with His fullness, who is our Source for everything we could possible need, want or desire in this life.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” (Psalm 23:1-3)
He fully equips us to walk in His ways, clothing our inner hearts in His Holiness, in His goodness, in His love, which is more to be desired then gold.
The riches of His Kingdom are at hand, all we have to do is to ask Him to daily fill us anew, to daily drink from the everlasting well of Living waters found in Him, to daily commune in Him, drawing near to His abundance.
In this new beginning granted to us, in the spring of this new year, in this season of truth the Lord is bringing us into, let our resolution be to daily, in each breath, practice the presence of our God, drawing nearer to Him, being attentive unto Him and learn from Him our high calling, then commit our ways in being His true disciples.
If we seek Him with our whole hearts, letting go of our human resistance, letting go of how we think He should move, then He will pour open the heavens, causing us to walk in a Fullness in Him we have never touched, seen or imagined.
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:1-2)
May our prayer and meditations be upon His word, asking His Spirit to reveal to us, the above messages in an experiential reality shedding His truth upon our hearts. Let us draw from Him our sustenance, in feeding our spiritual souls with His manna, in His living word, in Him, from where all life flows, where we breath, live and have our being.
Let us learn in Christ, asking His Spirit to cause us to commit our ways in deeply aligning our hearts in Him, that we may walk in the path He leads us in all our days, that we may fulfil those purposes He has called and chosen us to accomplish in and by His ability as we learn the process of abiding in His Spirit Life.
May we begin this new year, in learning to seek Him, in each day, in each moment we are granted this precious gift of life, in learning to be in Him, in learning to take the necessary time in Him, to daily, let go of all of who we are, drawing nearer to our Father’s heart, and touching the hem of His holy garments, that we may know Him intimately deeper.
Let this new year resolution be to daily, moment by moment, desire a growing intimacy not known prior, in being in our inner person, ever closer to our Father’s bosom, to sincerely be with the One who loves us, to ask His Spirit to reveal more of Him to us, as His breath births His love in ways we have never experienced or imagined.
Let us ask Him for such an overflow of Him in us, that we become the radical God Hearts towards all of whom we encounter in our pilgrimage upon this earth.
May our hearts open in an earnest humility, hungering and thirsting to be full of our Father God’s sustaining grace, to know the heart of Christ and to flow richly in the Spirit life, where we come to the place of intimate desire, where we lay ourselves bare before the Spirit and daily pray the following:
“Not my will Oh Lord do I want, but I desire Your will in my life; no matter the cost, no matter what it takes, no matter what I must surrender, no matter where You take me; I desire You above all else in this world, My life is Yours Oh God; Teach me Your ways, Teach me how to Pray, Teach me how to Love; take me deeper into the width, depth, and breadth of the Father’s love, and show me the Fullness of the trinity who is alive in me.”
